Omega Motorcycle Co. - Wolverhampton England 1909

Although also from England, this Omega has nothing to do with the Green Omega's from Coventry. This (older) company was founded by mr. S. Dorsett (other sources are speaking from mr. S. Dawson) and R.S. Roberts in Wolverhampton. On the 1909 Stanley Show in London they proudly presented their Omega motorcycle:

It looked to be a normal bicycle equipped with a 217cc engine delivering 1.5 horsepower. But in reality it was a modern construction, with the engine casing as part of the frame, and the bracket running through the engine. Despite this the motorcycle had 2 indepenent chains to the rear wheel, 1 for the engine and 1 for the pedals.
It was available in both a men's and ladies model. Probably only a few motorcycles have been built, in 1909 only. This is how it looked in the catalogue:

Here the front of the 1909 catalogue, showing the models for 1910:

The next picture from unknown source should be from 1910. On the men's model it shows more from the engine:

Although at first glance these pictures resemble the catalogue drawings, there are a lot of differences. The tanks are larger and the frames are different (the men's model, with the extra tube above the engine, also differing from the bike on the Stanley Show picture). But the most remarkable difference is the front forks which are now equipped with springs.
